Diagramming and Translation
Construction: Wood, Concrete, Vellum
Software: Rhino, Adobe Ilustrator, Adobe InDesign
This multi-step project culminating in the construction of a table lamp is focused on diagramming and translating various aspects of a given plant specimen. Through studying the Beta Vulgaris plant (more commonly known as swiss chard), I created diagrams of the plant at different scales. Using those diagrams along with an analog component, I created a wallpaper design. Finally, distilling and translating all of this, the Chard Light was constructed featuring concrete, vellum, and wood.
